The lift lock! Will channel change your mind. Good morning! Rise and shine with the boombox! Where mice men play inside. In the A.M. push the till until you die! Nonsense is everyone's delight. Howling, riding my bike downhill into the dark, stoned, feeling good! Backwards! Asshole! There's no future don't you know it!? With your eye on the prize while you cover it in shit!

Retrograde 04:16
Oh god in my gundam I'm floating out of body; this avatar of hands its quiet wisdom holds me My tongue's a jagged leaf to leave you in a trance; a sacred shape, a waveform, it's random or we're just too close... To be sure... I don't know? Before I warm up, before I'm stuck on mystery hiccups and holy yawns They're good, just not that good, okay, they're awful! I don't wanna hurt your feelings but I guess you have none Beyond all reasoning you're a moral mountain. You're always a high; an avalanche, you crush the climbers, watch them fly! To be sure, I don't know? Before I warm up, before I'm stuck on the downside of your incline That's cool n' all, but can you tell me? What you really think and feel? Not what you think I wanna hear... Here!

Rabbits 06:01
tumbling through fields hlessil dig down burrowing scrapes to escape from the elil digging a hole digging a hole underground sentries posted on the grounds near their young predators prey on the prey that can't see them hiding away hiding away not a sound mothers and daughters and fathers and sons thumping the earth as a warning to others running away running away from the hounds how do they fear the sky owls perched on branches with wide cogent eyes mice nibbled roots dappled with dew fearing claws grass stained paws beating hearts spying larks, in the creeping briar, lives el-ahrairah Digging and digging and digging a hole gathered together in hopes of survival wondering if wondering if we are safe hiding and hiding and hiding away blessed by the ears of the great el-ahrairah hoping to stay hoping to stay To our faith how do they fear the sky owls perched on branches with wide cogent eyes mice nibbled roots dappled with dew fearing claws grass stained paws beating hearts spying larks in the creeping briar lives el-ahrairah

Wonka Vision 04:49
Polished, bone encased, the crystal yo-yo's wound, sometimes it walks the dog as if the dog can't walk itself And as we spin the prism wheel a prison's taught us how to feel real mature and practically A player piano weeds this soil seems to grow naturally in me Polished we'll embrace, when ragged we began, portaging all of our bodies as if not fit for this land And as we spin the prism wheel a prison's taught us how to feel real mature I'm practically A player piano weeds this soil seems to grow naturally in me... in me! And as we spin our souls extinct, our faces carved as skating rinks, forget the path know the way 'Cause we spin but you only feel it when you dig in your heels, plant your toes, see what grows, who knows who'll grow up!

Worse Crimes 04:49
Reckoning is coming it should have been here by now, reckoning will come beyond a shadow of a doubt dig your grave, say your prayers, frankly you should be embarrassed Reckoning is coming it should have been here by now, reckoning will come beyond a shadow of a doubt say your prayers, dig your grave, come on let us see your shame face If murder is murder is killing time a crime? If murder is murder is killing time a crime? No, it's suicide Reckoning is coming it should have been here by now, reckoning will come beyond a shadow of a doubt dig your grave, say your prayers, frankly you should be embarrassed Reckoning is coming it should have been here by now, reckoning will come beyond a shadow of a doubt say your prayers, dig your grave, come on let us see your shame face If murder is murder is killing time a crime? If murder is murder is killing time a crime? No, it's suicide Lets play a game of missed opportunities, lets play a game of chances lost. Reckoning is coming it should have been here by now, reckoning will call me on a shadow of doubt dig your grave, say your prayers...

Offroading 07:37
When we laugh we go off-road signal full range when you say may name now we're touching insects the way our destiny intersects where a boy can dream... What a goof am I? Connected to a hive? Just like those dancing guys in each city will arrive We'll unfold, like rows of stop signs lead unto nowhere to go we'll unfold as long lost allies! Lead unto nowhere to go! What a goof am I? Connected to a hive? Just like those dancing guys in each city will arrive We'll unfold as rows of stops signs lead unto trailer homes we'll unfold as long lost allies! Lead unto the fragrant rose! What a goof am I? Connected to her eyes? What a kinder surprise in each city we'll arrive We'll unfold, we'll unfold, We'll unfold, gonna grow old, we'll unfold, unfold, we'll unfold!

about

Hamilton, Ontario's Dizzy Spells self-titled first release possesses the hallmarks of a band in chaotic control. From the opening waltz of the angular Mark Zuckerberg, to the spastic finale of Offroading, Dizzy Spells excel at crafting the curious, and at curating quirk.

Dizzy Spells capture the realities of contemporary, modern life through sardonically bent quips, musings on the anxiety of time, finding happiness, interconnectivity, and the inevitable finality of death. Their lyrics are interlaced with jumpy, skittering guitar lead switchabouts by David Appleyard and Benjamin Schillaci, crunchy kraut-like bass by Ryan Fisher, asymmetrical, schizoid drum playing by Zach Vernon, and Damon Guyett's moody, form-fitting keyboards.

As the band has risen through four years of growing pains, this record is a proclamation, a stepping stone of sonic stability to rest upon, a declaration of a point and time in their lives when they were howling downhill with a channel-changed mind.
